Job Description
Wendy Woods, M.A. is a Senior Workforce Development Manager at the University of Nevada, Reno’s School of Public Health/Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies (CASAT). Ms. Woods is the Project Director for the NOCE Screening, Prevention and Intervention project, providing training and technical assistance to support Nevada organizations to expand and improve capacity for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD)/MOUD prevention, treatment, recovery and harm reduction services. As a Senior Project Manager of the Mountain Plains (HHS Region 8) Addiction Technology Transfer Center (ATTC), she oversees project staff in developing innovative web-based integrated learning models that use current technologies to provide training, technical assistance (TA), consultation and implementation strategies for the behavioral health field. Ms. Woods also held the position as the Co-PI/Co-Director of the Pacific Southwest (HHS Region 9) Rural Opioid Technical Assistance (ROTA) Regional Center. This project provided activities focused on evidence-based practices/promising practices focused on prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery services related to opioid/stimulant use disorders tailored to rural communities. As director of the Nevada State Opioid Response (SOR) Adopt Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) Project, she provided Nevada’s healthcare system with expertise and resources to provide training/TA, implementation, workflow, educational materials, and other resources to promote SBIRT for Substance Use/Opioid Use Disorders. Ms. Woods is a co-developer of CASAT’s Addiction Treatment Minor online academic program as well as instructor in the academic minor program and has over 25 years of experience in the field of substance use treatment and recovery.

Personal Bio
Wendy Woods, M.A. is a Workforce Development Senior Project Manager and Academic Instructor at the University of Nevada Reno’s Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies (CASAT). She earned her M.A. in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Arizona and prior to her position at UNR, worked as a clinician at the residential treatment center, Sierra Tucson™ in Tucson, AZ. As part of her role as a Senior Project Manager at CASAT, Ms. Woods directs, manages and coordinates state and federally funded project grants and contracts. In addition, Ms. Woods provides instruction in CASAT’s Addiction Treatment Minor program at UNR and has over 25 years’ experience in the addictions treatment field providing culturally appropriate, research-based training, education and technology transfer activities in order to strengthen the behavioral health workforce.
