Biography

Job Description

I currently serve as both Project Manager, Workforce development and Project Director for the Nevada Certification Board, where I help lead statewide efforts to support and strengthen Nevada’s behavioral health workforce. My work focuses on keeping programs running smoothly, and growing a strong certification board. This includes making sure we’re aligned with evidence-based practices, meeting regulatory requirements, supporting strong, consistent operations across the board, and most importantly engaging in stakeholder collaborations across the state of Nevada.

I am also honored to be part of the academic side by teaching CAS 255 – Substance Abuse Prevention, where I focus on practical, hands-on learning and helping students apply research and critical thinking to real-world prevention work.

Years at CASAT/Positions Held

I have been working with CASAT for 1 year and 3 months, first as an LOA instructor teaching CAS 255, then as both an instructor and full-time Project Manager beginning in mid-2025.

Work History

I’m a public health administrator with a background that spans substance misuse prevention, nonprofit leadership, and strengthening health systems. Over the years, I’ve really gravitated toward workforce development, prevention science, and helping programs run smoothly areas that fit right in with CASAT’s mission here at UNR.

A big part of my career has been focused on reducing health disparities by improving the systems that support our communities. I’ve led nonprofit teams, managed grant-funded projects, built training and curriculum, and served on advisory groups that help guide statewide behavioral health planning. As a Certified Prevention Specialist, I try to bring both practical experience and a policy mindset to the work—whether that’s supporting coalitions, designing training, or making sure community voices shape what we build.

At CASAT, I’m especially excited about continuing to bridge research, policy, and practice in ways that help strengthen Nevada’s behavioral and public health workforce and create meaningful, sustainable change for the communities we serve.

Personal Bio

I’m someone who’s happiest when I’m outdoors, creating something with my hands, or surrounded by good music and good company. I love hiking and skiing—basically anything that lets me soak up fresh air and mountain views. When I’m at home, you can usually find me at my piano, stitching an embroidery project, or spending time with my family.

I’m a lifelong music lover, so there’s almost always a playlist running in the background, whether I’m cooking, crafting, or just relaxing. Creativity, movement, and time with the people I love are what keep me grounded and joyful.
