Years at CASAT/Positions Held
I started as the Assistant Technology Coordinator August 29, 2022
Work History
I have only worked a few places but have had top learn many very different skills. I started working for the family shop as a locksmith as long as I can remember. My responsibilities grew from sweeping the floor to managing the shop. In that time I pulled the shop from the pen and paper era to the computer age. After graduating from college I had the opportunity to teach english in Japan which I loved so much I decided to teach, here. While I was looking into continuing education I worked as a long term substitute in Science, working at a 1 to 1 school where each student had a laptop I became familiar with organizational computer systems and disillusioned with teaching. After COVID hit I briefly worked in distance education where I spent much of my time acting as tech support for many of the students and fellow teachers. I finally began work at CASAT in 2022 as the new Technology Coordinator.
Personal Bio
Even though I am in IT I actually have a history degree. I have always been interested in the history of stuff, especially technology. I love old technology and how it works and whenever I was given the opportunity this is what I studied. I could care less about a famous ruler or some old war but am endlessly fascinated by what people used to get work done. I am especially interested in the industrial revolution and the beginnings of the information age. On the weekends you might find me tinkering with an old black and white tv, rebuilding a 30 year old game system or playing a game on a modern system. I love games whether we are talking about classic board games, card games, or video games. I also love reading and once I find I get book, or series I find them almost impossible to put down.
