Biography

Job Description

Crystal Jaquette is a Behavioral Health Quality Assurance and Compliance, Specialist II, for the Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies (CASAT) at the University of Nevada, Reno. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and AAMFT approved supervisor in Nevada. She has worked in the mental and behavioral health field since receiving her master’s degree in 2011, with a heavy focus on trauma treatment for children, adolescents, and their families. Her primary projects at CASAT include providing oversight, technical assistance, and training to Certified Community Behavioral Health Centers statewide. She is a prominent member of a multi-agency certification team for CCBHCs, including Health Care Quality and Compliance, Department of Human and Health Service, Medicaid and CASAT. Crystal also provides quality assurance, training and technical assistance for Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teams, a program required for Nevada CCBHCs, as well as those ACT teams that have received funding from Nevada’s Mental Health Block Grant. In year 2021, she facilitated in the development of Nevada’s Division Criteria for Assertive Community Treatment. In addition to her work with CCBHCs and ACT teams in Nevada, Crystal is also a certification specialist for Nevada’s SAPTA certification contracts (coalitions, prevention, and treatment programs).

Crystal has been with CASAT since February 2019. She started with CASAT as a Certification Specialist, with primary focus on the CCBHC SAMHSA project and SAPTA programs in Nevada.

Work History

Prior to working at CASAT, Crystal was working in private practice as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She provided outpatient psychotherapy services to families, adults, adolescents and children. She was credentialed with several private insurances companies, Nevada Medicaid FFS, and was an approved Nevada Victims of Crime Program provider. She also dedicated part of her work as a contract therapist and multidisciplinary team member at the Washoe County Child Advocacy Center (2016-2019), providing short-term, trauma-focused therapy to children identified as victims of serious crimes in Washoe County.

Personal Bio

Crystal has lived in beautiful Nevada all of her life. She was born in Reno, but moved to Winnemucca when she was 3 years old. After graduating from high school she moved back to the Biggest Little City to pursue her college education at UNR. During the summer prior to her first semester at UNR, Crystal met her (future) husband. They started dating in Spring 2005 and got married on their 8 year dating anniversary. Crystal and her husband share two amazingly bright and kind, elementary-aged daughters. In her free-time, Crystal enjoys running, woodworking, and other crafty-DIY projects.
